Hamilton, Ontario / Boston, Massachusetts — GameBreakers Network Inc., one of North America’s most recognized youth esports and gaming education organizations, and Techrupt Innovations, a fast-growing venture studio and startup accelerator headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, today announced a landmark strategic partnership. Under this agreement, Techrupt Innovations is making a formal investment into GameBreakers Network and will serve as its exclusive technology partner, powering a new cross-platform app built to connect gamers, coaches, and communities across the world.
This partnership brings together two organizations that have each spent years building real things in their respective spaces — GameBreakers on the ground, inside communities and schools across multiple countries, and Techrupt in the world of startups, AI, and digital brand building. Together, they are now building something that neither could do alone.
About GameBreakers Network
GameBreakers Network Inc. was founded with one idea at its core: that gaming is not just something young people do for fun, it is a space where they can learn, grow, find community, and build real futures. Over more than five years in operation, GameBreakers has grown from a local initiative into an internationally recognized platform operating across Canada, the United States, and multiple countries around the world.
Under the leadership of President and Co-Founder David Finlay, GameBreakers has built a reputation as Canada’s first true hybrid sports and esports platform — a place where basketball courts and gaming tournaments live side by side, and where youth from all walks of life are given an equal shot at opportunity. The organization has hosted major events including a historic $10,000 GameBreakers Esports Championship in partnership with Mohawk College, has raised $125,000 toward community court renewal projects, and has partnered with some of Canada’s most respected institutions, including Fengate Asset Management and Mohawk College’s Esports Administration program.
GameBreakers also runs a free 8 to 10 week Youth Esports Training Program, teaching young people the skills they need to pursue professional careers in gaming, streaming, and media. The program is run by industry professionals and gives students hands-on experience, mentorship, and a real path forward. It is the kind of program that did not exist a decade ago — and GameBreakers built it from scratch.
Globally, GameBreakers has been present at major gaming and esports events and has forged international franchise partnerships, most recently with Algon Games, creating what has been described as a first-of-its-kind global franchise partnership to grow youth esports worldwide. The organization has been featured across mainstream media, runs a weekly esports business podcast airing on INDI 101.5 FM in Hamilton — the world’s first live FM esports business podcast — and has built a loyal and growing community of players, parents, coaches, and sponsors who believe in what the GameBreakers brand stands for.
GameBreakers is not just a gaming company. It is a movement. One that uses sports, esports, media, storytelling, and technology to break barriers, create access, and inspire the next generation of creators and community leaders.
About Techrupt Innovations
Techrupt Innovations is a Boston-based venture studio and startup accelerator that partners with founders and organizations to build, launch, and scale technology companies. Founded in 2021 by Ben Chrzanowski and Vishesh Gupta out of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Techrupt has grown quickly into one of the most active studios operating at the intersection of EdTech, AI, SaaS, consumer products, and influencer technology.
What makes Techrupt different from a traditional investor or development agency is its model. Techrupt does not just write a check and walk away. It gets its hands dirty. Its team of engineers, designers, and growth strategists works alongside founders from day one, building products with speed, precision, and a clear understanding of what it takes to get from idea to market. The company has successfully launched AI tools, direct-to-consumer brands, SaaS platforms, and influencer-led businesses — and it does all of it with a founder’s mindset.
Techrupt’s portfolio includes GameClass, an AI-powered esports education platform now partnered with NASEF to reach over 10,000 schools; Ampifi, a Utah-based technology company focused on creator monetization; and Paperless Now, a business automation platform. Across these investments, Techrupt has developed a proven ability to identify opportunities in fast-growing categories and help its partners build the systems and products needed to win in them.
The studio recently announced plans to double its workforce, a signal of the pace at which it is growing and the volume of opportunities it is pursuing. Techrupt now operates across multiple verticals simultaneously — EdTech, AI-powered tools, B2B SaaS, influencer tech, and consumer brands — making it one of the most diverse and active studios in its class. It has worked with over 30 influencer brands, powered by its proprietary systems for audience engagement, brand management, and sales conversion.
Techrupt’s investment philosophy is straightforward: find founders and organizations that are building something real, bring in the technology and the team needed to scale it, and grow together. The partnership with GameBreakers is a natural extension of that thinking.
About the Partnership
Under this agreement, Techrupt Innovations is investing into GameBreakers Network and will serve as the organization’s official technology partner for the development and launch of a new multi-platform digital experience available on Android, iOS, and the web. The platform will be designed from the ground up to give gamers around the world a trusted, safe, and feature-rich space to connect, learn, compete, and grow.
The platform will allow users to share highlights and achievements, build profiles, and engage with a global gaming community. It will feature smart team-matching tools that connect players by region, game type, and availability — putting an end to the frustration of being paired with random strangers in critical moments. Users will be able to register for events, access exclusive merchandise drops, and buy tickets to GameBreakers competitions all in one place.
At the heart of the platform will be access to GAMECLASS A.I., Techrupt’s flagship AI-powered esports education tool, which brings real coaching and learning into the gaming experience in a way that feels natural to young players. Alongside this, users will be able to connect with GameBreakers coaches and wellness professionals for mentorship and personal development support — because GameBreakers has always believed that what happens off the screen matters just as much as what happens on it.
The platform is not just an app. It is the digital infrastructure that will power the next chapter of GameBreakers’ global expansion. With a presence already established across multiple countries and a community that spans continents, GameBreakers is now building the technology layer that will allow it to serve that community at scale — and Techrupt is the team that will build it with them.
“GameBreakers has spent years earning the trust of young people, parents, coaches, and communities across the world,” said David Finlay, President and Co-Founder of GameBreakers Network. “Now we are building the platform that brings all of that together in one place. Techrupt is the right partner to help us do that. They understand what we are building and why it matters.”
“Esports and youth gaming is one of the fastest growing industries on the planet, and GameBreakers is one of the most authentic organizations we have ever come across in this space,” said Ben Chrzanowski, CEO of Techrupt Innovations. “This is not just a technology deal. This is us believing in the mission and putting real resources behind it. We are excited to help GameBreakers build what comes next.”
What This Means for the Future
This partnership represents a significant moment for both organizations. For GameBreakers, it brings in a world-class technology partner with a proven track record of building and scaling products in exactly the markets that matter most — education, AI, creator tools, and community platforms. For Techrupt, it marks a meaningful deepening of its commitment to esports and youth engagement, a sector that is growing rapidly and that remains underserved by serious technology investment.
Beyond the platform itself, both organizations see this as the foundation for a long-term relationship — one that will evolve as GameBreakers continues to expand internationally, launch new programs, and push into new areas of sports, esports, media, and culture.
The goal has always been the same: give every young person who picks up a controller a real place to belong, real skills to build, and real opportunities to pursue. With this partnership, GameBreakers and Techrupt are taking a major step toward making that a reality for gamers across the world.
